One Parish, Five Churches

St Laurence Priory in Snaith is part of the Benefice of Great Snaith which also includes the churches of Holy Trinity at Cowick, St John the Baptist at Heck, St Paul at Hensall and St John the Baptist at Pollington. Our logo represents the five churches.

Historic Church

There was originally a Saxon church on this site, and the present Priory is over 950 years old. It survived The Reformation, and several issues caused by neglect, but is now watertight, and we welcome all visitors to our church.

Lottery Heritage Fund Support

Significant restoration work required to fix the roof was funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and local fundraising. The roof was the first of a multi-stage project to ensure that the Priory is available for future generations to enjoy.
